The IPA Virtual Library is an open-access digital platform that brings together psychoanalytic knowledge from across the IPA community and its network of societies. It offers a curated collection of scientific papers, journal articles, and multimedia materials, making them freely available to researchers, clinicians, and the wider public.

Launched in 2024, the Library facilitates multilingual searches by author, title, year, language, and keyword, helping to disseminate the work of psychoanalysts worldwide. By linking directly to the original publishers, it ensures access to authoritative sources while respecting copyright and confidentiality agreements.

This space seeks to serve researchers, clinicians, students, and the wider community interested in psychoanalysis, fostering dialogue across generations, theoretical orientations, and regions. By highlighting regional productions and connecting them with international contributions, the Library supports a dynamic and inclusive understanding of psychoanalytic work.

Moreover, the Library underscores the importance of psychoanalysis sharing a space with other mental health professions—such as psychiatry, psychology, and social work—to foster integrative approaches to care. By encouraging cross-disciplinary dialogue, it helps bridge epistemological boundaries and enrich both clinical practice and theoretical innovation.

The platform is sustained by collaborative efforts and a strong commitment to ethical editorial practices, aiming to become a trusted reference for those engaging with psychoanalytic literature in all its forms.

The IPA Virtual Library is part of the Association’s ongoing commitment to promoting psychoanalytic thinking globally and supporting scholarly communication in the field.

Supported by International Psychoanalytical Association.
